Firsts for Benjamin: A haircut and a happy birthday

My youngest grandson, Benjamin, is bound and determined to mature and move on at lightning speed, seemingly so much sooner than the grandsons that came before him.

To wit: The kid marked two major milestones in the past week or so. Those being his first haircut and his first birthday. How can that be? Seems he was just born.

Alas, as I’m in no position to press pause on the growing boy’s progress, I merrily go along with his maturing. And take photos, of course. Lots of photos.

Here, just a few said photos from said firsts.

First, Benjamin’s first haircut. He was fabulously — unexpectedly — amenable to being combed, cut, and even buzzed.

Thank heavens for a patient stylist.

The next first for Benjamin, a must-mark (with lots of photos) milestone for sure, was his birthday. Well, is his birthday, as today is his actual birthday, we just celebrated such with family — including his paternal grandma, Grandma Marty from California — on Sunday (as I mentioned here Monday).

Happy, happy, happy first birthday to my not-so-baby-anymore grandbaby Benjamin!

One more first I’m compelled to share as a footnote, a first for me that happened during Benny-Boo’s haircut shown above. No, it’s not that it was the first grandson’s haircut I’d witnessed; in fact, I shared Camden’s first (not so happy) salon cut here on the blog, too.

No, the first for me was that Benjamin’s haircut was the first time I took 290 photos in a 15-minute time frame while standing in virtually the same spot. Seriously.

Consider the cut well documented!

Like I said, thank heavens for a patient stylist.
