Seeing stars: Time for the 2014 Starz Denver Film Festival

I love movies. Whether it's in a theater or at home, watching well-crafted films is one of my favorite things to do.

Starz Denver Film Festival

Because of my love for films, I'm delighted to announce that the 2014 Starz Denver Film Festival kicks off next week, running November 12-23. I'm doubly delighted to announce that I once again received press credentials to cover the star- and story-filled event, allowing me special media access from beginning to end.

The Starz Denver Film Festival, this the 37th year, is as the tagline says, "12 days in the heart of Denver to experience stories told through the magic of film." More than 200 movies fill this year's jam-packed schedule, along with Red Carpet events, filmmaker panels, parties, post-screening discussions, and much more.

Last year I had the privilege of experiencing my first Red Carpet event. My second one, too, as well as getting to meet fabulous and famous folks throughout the festival. And then there were the movies. Lots of them, many of which I reviewed for Grandma's Briefs readers.

This year I plan to chalk up another Red Carpet event or two and take plenty of pics I'll pass along to you. And as this year's festival theme is "Step into the Story," I'm especially excited about stepping into the following stories — and reviewing them for you as Saturday movie reviews in the weeks to come.

FOXCATCHER — Based on a true story and starring (unrecognizable) Steve Carell, Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo.

TOUCH THE WALL — A feature-length documentary on Olympic swimmers (from Colorado, yeah!) Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce.

WILD — Reese Witherspoon starring as Cheryl Strayed, based on Strayed's best-selling autobiography.

21 YEARS: RICHARD LINKLATER — A documentary about writer/director Richard Linklater (Boyhood, School of Rock), featuring big stars who adore him.

THE DROP — A gritty drama starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and James Gandolfini in his final performance.

Visit the 2014 Starz Denver Film Festival website and Facebook page for more info on the festival, including details on purchasing tickets for screenings and events.

Disclosure: I received free media access to the majority of Starz Denver Film Festival events; opinions — and choices of what to share with you — are my own.

Today's question:

Based on the movie trailers above, which are you most interested in reading my review of?
