Saturday movie review: The House With a Clock in its Walls

Jack Black is quickly becoming my favorite star of thrillers. Thrillers of the family friendly sort, that is. I was intrigued by his turn as author R.L. Stine in 2015’s GOOSEBUMPS and endlessly amused by his role as Bethany—yes, a girl!—in the slapstick silly yet oh-so suspenseful JUMANIJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE. Three’s a charm with THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS, wherein Black plays mysterious and mesmerizing Jonathan Barnavelt, who lives in a creaky, creepy mansion that has a tick-tocking heart heard in the dark of night.

Saturday movie review: Little Boy

Sometimes as adults and definitely as kids, we don't want to believe reality and think if we believe long enough and hard enough that the impossible can come true, that the inevitable bad will turn out to not be inevitable. If we have faith.

Saturday movie review: Disney's Zootopia (with printables and other fun stuff!)

I like comedies. I like crime capers.

I like bunnies and foxes and sloths.

I definitely like sloths!

I like Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Bonnie Hunt, Tommy Chong, and Shakira, too.

And I like Raymond Persi. As a sloth.

Those are just some of the reasons I liked Disney's ZOOTOPIA. If you like those things, you'll like ZOOTOPIA, too. So will your kids and grandkids — no matter their ages.
