Once more through my mother-in-law's window

"Think for a minute, darling: in fairy tales it's always the children who have the fine adventures. The mothers have to stay at home and wait for the children to fly in the window."
― Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Traveler's Wife

Jim and I, along with Brianna and Andrea, drove to South Dakota Sunday to attend Jim's brother-in-law's funeral. Before heading home Sunday, we stopped in to see Granny, my beloved mother-in-law, my daughters' beloved paternal grandmother.

Oh, how I wish we could fly in through her window more often. Each time we do, my heart is warmed by her smile and flashes of remembering.

And each time we leave, my heart breaks thinking it may be the last time we hug her.

Today's question:

What warmed your heart over the past weekend?
