Major surgery

Now that my husband and I — and my piano — finally feel fully settled into our new place, the time had come to tune the 1913 Brinkerhoff we thankfully had space for in our downsized-by-half home.

Major surgery was performed yesterday.

And major surgery it certainly seemed as it was exponentially more than a simple tuning. Due to a lack of tuning since 2008 more so than the move across town last summer, I must admit. As well as a few keys being pried up rather than pressed down when “played” by a grandson or two. Or three.

Now to relearn all I’ve forgotten. And then some.

Infinitely more than some, in fact.

I look forward to it! (Jim and our pets perhaps not so much.)
