Battling the bug

My three grandsons from the desert (and their parents) spent the long MLK weekend at our house, to celebrate Benjamin’s baptism. It was a fast but fabulous family time and I have much to share of our couple of days together. But I haven’t yet… because I’ve been battling a persistent bug of a stuffy, snotty sort ever since the boys headed home. I’ve had neither the energy nor inclination to post the pics nor share the story, but hope to—nay, plan to!—soon.

Not only has my battle with the bug kept me from regaling you all with shots and such from my triple-B weekend (boys, baptism, Benjamin celebration), it’s put a kink in my weekly gig with my youngest grandson.

See, for the past few weeks, I’ve been watching Benjamin each Thursday—to give Brianna a break and me some Benjamin time. Alas, I had to cancel Benjamin time last Thursday to keep him clear of Gramma’s bug. Then I had to cancel on Friday too (our postponed time), as the darn bug didn’t budge.

As I lamented the loss of snuggle time with the silly boy, Brianna texted a special message:

No better medicine for a bug-battling grandma!

(A grandma who better be better by Thursday because while texts from the tot work wonders, as Marvin and Tammy attest, ain’t nothing like the real thing, baby!)
