Climbing trees and singing songs

Kids love to climb trees, and Bubby is no exception. Once he turned 5 years old, tackling tree climbing and finding freedom above the rooftops proved a top priority for my grandson.

Just before my visit last month, he mastered the art.

Bubby couldn't wait to show Gramma the new heights to which he can climb. So soon after I arrived, I grabbed my camera and documented his new skill — and his pride in himself for the achievement.

Once I returned home and reviewed my photos and videos, I was especially pleased to hear Mac's happy sing-song voice in the background. It provides an especially sweet soundtrack for his brother's high-climbing hijinks, a magical melody of innocence I failed to notice at the time.
