My friend Ruth, author and creator of CraniumCrunches.com, visited me for one day last month. It was perfect timing as I had just received a 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited free for review as part of the #SubaruLegacy blogger program. The sleek sedan was the ideal vehicle for our day of adventure.

Ruth and I packed tons of fun into our time out and about together in the comfy car. We started off visiting—and walking—a labyrinth downtown...

Followed by a drive to the top of Palmer Park so I could treat Ruth to my favorite view of my beloved Colorado Springs:

We visited the incredible Paint Mines Interpretive Park east of the city...

And we trekked a bit downtown, had lunch at my favorite Greek restaurant, and we dined (and goofed off) at The Airplane Restaurant at the end of the day.

It was a fabulous day made better thanks to the Subaru Legacy I had the privilege to review.

That day with my dear friend was my first full day driving the review vehicle. In those hours out and about, from one side of town to all the way across and beyond the other, I learned much about the super features of the Subaru Legacy. I learned even more as my husband and I tooled about town in the roomy car with the Venetian Red Pearl exterior the rest of that week.

Here are just a few of the highlights of the all-wheel drive 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited, some of my favorites discovered throughout the week:

The 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited is comfy and roomy. The design, new for 2015, features a 104.6 cubic foot passenger volume, which is the largest in the midsize sedan class. Even the backseat is spacious. My husband is 6'4" and even though he pushed the front passenger seat all the way back (and had more foot and leg space than any vehicle we've ever ridden in), Ruth wasn't squished at all in the back as we drove to dinner. (I'm not a mean hostess; it was a test of the space. Honest!)

Even the trunk is spacious—15.0 cubic feet. Plus, the 60/40 split back seats can fold down to create a huge area (that you can see through all the way to the front) for transporting large amounts of cargo.

The interior features leather trimmed seats and steering wheel. Soft-touch materials with thick cushioning for armrests and center console give the interior a premium feel.

The 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited has the best rear-view camera ever. I have driven numerous vehicles that feature a rear-view camera for backing up. Never, ever have I seen one as clear, colorful, natural, and accurate as the one in the Subaru Legacy. It's part of the new "Rear Vehicle Detection System" that features Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Amazing! (That's it in the upper left below, as I backed out of my—shaded—driveway.)

Other great features shown above include (clockwise after the camera): dual-zone automatic climate control panel (has heated front and rear seats, too!); electro-luminescent gauges with blue ring illumination; the Navigation Infotainment System with a 7-inch touch screen and multi-function display (voice activated, if desired!); the navigational map display.

The 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited features little things that are big things. For example (clockwise from top left), an easy to grasp gear shift (plus the ability to switch into 6-speed manual mode); easy to access USB and auxiliary jacks; a moonroof that makes the cabin seem even more roomy; plenty of storage space in front—lighted!—console; the best-ever parking brake, that's set and released with the push of a button.

The 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited is safe. I have no photos of these things, but here are a few that made me feel safe and sound in the Subaru Legacy: New rollover sensor to deploy side curtain airbags if a rollover is detected; new front seat-cushion airbags that deploy from the seat bottom to keep occupants in place in a frontal collision; pinch protection on the automatic windows (no pinched arms of grandkiddos); "welcome lighting" that automatically turns on interior illumination and exterior lights as the driver approaches or departs the car.

Last but far from least in the "safe" category is this nifty feature—EyeSight driver assistance for front crash prevention—that I couldn't photograph and can't explain as well as does this video from Subaru:
