What I learned this week: How to eat angry birds

One of my favorite lessons this past week was unwittingly provided by Mac, on how to eat angry birds... of the graham cracker variety (hold your cursor over each photo for instruction):

Not really a lesson I needed to learn, but a valuable one just the same.

Today's question:

What did you learn this week?

Photo replay: Dump trucks and big lips

(Warning: This one might hurt.)

Remember that orange dump truck my grandsons love so much? The one I wrote about here, here and here? Well, despite all the mileage we've gotten out of it — in terms of fun for the boys and posts for me — I no longer love it so much.

My sweet Mac flipped from that darn dump truck a few nights ago, did a face-plant onto the tile floor, and ended up looking like this:

My poor baby!

(Though I must say, it's interesting that poor Mac's mishap fits in perfectly with my time at a vehicle safety conference.)

Today's question:

What's the most serious injury you've had resulting from a vehicle mishap — play or otherwise?

Picture this: A package from Grandma

I mailed a small package of Easter goodies to Bubby and Mac last week.

In return, Megan texted me photos and the comments of the happy recipients upon opening their package from Grandma:

Today's question:

What have you recently received in the mail that made you smile?

Photo replay: Going to California

Mac and Bubby hit the road Friday, headed to California, where Mommy Megan will run her first-ever full marathon.

Good luck to Megan, for whom my heart swells with pride as I consider her conquering 26.2 miles. On foot.

May the luck o' the Irish be with her — and with everyone else today.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
