Grilled Grandma: Jeannie

Jeannie with her girls. How many children do you have? 2, a daughter in Scottsdale, and a son in Yuba City, CA

How many grandchildren? What are their ages? 2 girls, ages 4 and 2

Any great grandchildren? No

What do your grandchildren call you? Cat or Grandma Cat. It started out as "Grandma with the cat" to differentiate between me and the other Grandma who has a dog.  Since then my cat has passed on and I have a dog, but I'm still Cat.

Ashlin, 2How often do you get to see your grandchildren? At least once a week. :)

What is the best thing about being a grandma? Loving them and being loved back by them.

What is the most challenging part of being a grandma? Nothing

Describe a recent time that one (or more) of your grandchildren made you laugh out loud.
Braeden (4 years old) called me on the phone and chatted a bit and then passed the phone to her sister Ashlin (2 years old) who proceeded to chatter away for about ten minutes. I have NO idea what she said.

Braeden, 4What is your favorite thing to do with grandchildren who visit your house?  Just play. We play lots of things, blocks, dolls, chalk, picnics in the livingroom, walking the dog, reading. I love it all.

What is your favorite thing to do when visiting grandchildren at their house? Pretty much the same thing as when they visit my house.

How do you maintain the bond between yourself and your grandchildren between visits?  We visit often so not a problem, but we also chat on the phone.

What do you most want to pass along to your grandchildren? Love and the knowledge of how much they are loved.

What is one word you hope your grandkids think of when they think of you? Happy (and Love)
