Who's who, plus GRAND Social No. 127 link party

Who's who

I've welcomed them into our family. I've written about them here and there. Now I've added them to the official lineup of who's who on Grandma's Briefs. Reason being, I'm happy to say it seems they'll be sticking around for a long time to come.

Who am I talking about? I'm talking about Patrick and Matt, boyfriends of Brianna and Andrea. You'll now find them — as well as updated photos of Jim and me and our three adorable grandsons  — in the "Meet the family" sidebar section to the right.

A quick glimpse of the new who's who photos (Megan and Preston still look fabulously similar to the photo that's been there):

The only person missing from the lineup is Patrick's six-year-old son (and Bubby's buddy) whom I call Bud here on the blog. He'll be added soon but for now, you can see the cute fella now and again in my product reviews, such as this great one he and Bubby together helped me review.

My full and happy family makes me smile.

GRAND Social No. 127 link party

Another thing that makes me smile is the longevity of the GRAND Social link party. Sheesh... one hundred and twenty seven! Amazing.

A few bloggers have mentioned that they no longer receive the comments they once did on the links they share in the GRAND Social. One of the things that makes a link party successful is the reciprocal commenting aspect of it, the part that puts the social in the GRAND Social and other link parties. Like any real life party, if someone says Hello! to you — for link parties, that's commenting on your blog — a reciprocal Hello! in return by way of commenting on their blog keeps the conversation going, helps folks get to know one another. So reach out and say hello on someone else's blog — and be sure to comment back when they reach out to you first.

Another pointer for those not receiving the comments they hope to: Commenting should be simple for the reader, so if you have CAPTCHA enabled or any other form/registering/logging-in sort of commenting system, you may want to consider a simpler method. Making it less of a hassle will result in more comments, guaranteed.

With that in mind, let's get social!

Cheers!

How it works:

  • All grandparent bloggers are invited to add a link. You don't have to blog about grandparenting, just be a grandparent who blogs.
  • To link up a post, copy the direct URL to the specific post — new or old — that you want to share, not the link to your blog's home page. Then click the blue button below marked "Add your link" and follow the directions.
  • You can add up to three posts, but no duplicates, contests, giveaways, or Etsy sites, please.
  • Adding a mention such as This post linked to the GRAND Social to your linked posts is appreciated. Or, you can post the GRAND Social button anywhere on your page using the following code:
<a rel="nofollow" href="/" target="blank"><img src="http://grandmasbriefs.squarespace.com/storage/GRANDsocialbutton.jpg" alt="Grandma’sBriefs.com" width="125" height="125" /></a>
  • The GRAND Social linky accepts posts through Wednesday evening, so please come back to see those added after your first visit.
  • If you're not a blogger, you have the pleasure of being a reader. Those sharing a link would be honored to have you visit, read and, if so moved, leave a comment even if just "Hey, stopping by from the GRAND Social." Bloggers who link are encouraged to visit and comment on the links of other bloggers, as well.
