Heating up the grill! Plus, GRAND Social No. 285 link party for grandparents

The holidays have passed and we're already nearly a quarter of the way through the first month of the new year. Which means it's time to get back to the business of GRAND Social socializing.

First, though, another bit of business: that of grilling! Grandma grilling.

Heating up the grill!

For far too many months to count now, I've been lax — okay, downright negligent — about publishing new Grilled Grandma features. Which isn't okay with me, as celebrating fellow grandmothers is one of my favorite things to do here on Grandma's Briefs.

So today I resolve to feature (meaning, grill) far more grandmothers in the months to come.

But... that means I need you! Grilling more grandmas can only happen with your help. In particular, I need the help of you grandmas I've not yet grilled — and I know there's a fair number of you out there who join the GRAND Social but have not yet been subject to grilling.

So here's my plea: If you have not yet been featured as a Grilled Grandma, I'd love for you to check out the GRILLED GRANDMAS page to see just what it means to be one of those featured. It's painless, I promise. Mostly it simply means I email you some questions, you email back your answers plus a few photos of your family. It's a great way to get to know one another as well as to share your beloved grands, your stories about them, your blog (if you have one), plus other successes and sentiments of any sort with the Grandma's Briefs readers.

After checking out those I've grilled, if you would like to join the gang, please email me and I'll get back to you with details and questions.

I hope my inbox will be flooded with requests to be grilled. And if you don't want to be grilled yourself (or already have been), I invite you to nominate a grandma friend or family member for the honor. Just send me their name and email address, and I'll do the rest (you may want to ask them first if that's okay with them... unless you know they'll be delighted with the surprise nomination).

Thank you for helping me achieve my resolution to grow the Grilled Grandma list!

GRAND Social No. 285 link party for grandparents

Finally, right!? Thank you for returning after the holiday hiatus! And thank you to those of you who are new to the GRAND Social gathering, the longest-running link party exclusively for grandparents!

How it works:

  • All grandparent bloggers are invited to add a link. You don't have to blog about grandparenting, just be a grandparent who blogs.

  • Grandparents who do not blog (or want to share something other than their own post) are welcome to add links to other posts grandparent readers may be interested in.
  • To link up a post, copy the direct URL to the specific post — new or old — that you want to share, not the link to the blog or website home page. Then click the blue button below marked "Add your link" and follow the directions.
  • I reserve the right to remove posts I feel are inappropriate. (Which hasn't happened yet, but I feel obligated to note that, just in case.)
  • Those who add links to the GRAND Social link party will be sent a weekly reminder when the party goes live. If you prefer to be removed from that email list, feel free to do so (and you'll still be more than welcome to join the party any time).
  • If adding your own post, including a mention such as This post linked to the GRAND Social to your linked posts is appreciated.
  • The GRAND Social linky accepts posts through Wednesday evening, so please come back to see those added after your first visit.
  • If you're not a linker, you have the pleasure of being a reader. Those sharing a link would be honored to have you visit, read and, if so moved, leave a comment, even if just "Hey, stopping by from the GRAND Social." Bloggers who link are encouraged to visit and comment on the links of other bloggers, as well.
