Denver Zoo's ZooLights 2014

Last Friday I had the good fortune to attend the opening night of the Denver Zoo's ZooLights 2014, courtesy Toyota.

ZooLights by Toyota

Toyota — presenters of ZooLights as well as a lifetime sponsor of the Denver Zoo — invited various media members and their families to enjoy the annual sparkly spectacle.

Jim, Andrea, and Matt served as my "family" for the evening. We were treated to a warm welcome from Michael Connor from Toyota's Denver Region (that's Michael with me below), as well as scrumptious appetizers, hot chocolate and cider.

After getting our fill of the fabulous finger foods, we had the opportunity to check out the Toyota Pavilion, which was decked out with lights and decor as well as games to play and a few gift ideas — as in, festively decorated (and highly desirable) Toyota vehicles:

Then we were given free reign of the Denver Zoo all lit up for ZooLights. Here, my gallery of photos (feel free to click to my Brag Book page to see the photos in full as some crop funny for the slideshow):

Toyota provided not only a great time, they gave me a great idea to add to the top of my Christmas wish list: a 2015 Toyota RAV4

Yeah, that's why it's called a wish list. But, ya never know; it's my understanding that there really is a Santa Claus, and I have been a good girl this year. For the most part.

It's also my understanding that zoos across the country offer shiny, sparkly zoo light versions of some sort. I highly recommend visiting your zoo lights event, whatever it may be. Even without youngsters in tow, it's a sure way to add a festive feel to your holiday season. It certainly did for my abbreviated family and me.
