The Saturday Post

Here, a moment of levity during this last mad-dash weekend of shopping, baking, wrapping and stressing (gotta love the reindeer solo!):

Today's question from "The Christmas Conversation Piece":

What Christmas object in your home has the most sentimental value?

My answer: An unglazed porcelain plate depicting a manger scene in bas relief and muted blues and browns, with "Jesus is the Reason for the Season", also in relief, around the rim. It's the first Christmas decoration I purchased as an adult, other than tree ornaments. Although fairly inexpensive, it was a special treat to be able to purchase it during one of those Christmas Around the World/House of Lloyd parties popular eons ago.
