Fresh Pan pizza: Papa Murphy's makes it, Grandma Lisa bakes it

I love pizza. I've mentioned that many times here on Grandma's Briefs — most recently here — so considering my love for the pie, I was delighted to be chosen to try out the all-new Papa Murphy's Fresh Pan pizza for free and share my thoughts on it here.

Papa Murphy's, the "take 'n' bake" pizza place, recently began offering the Fresh Pan pizzas featuring fresh ingredients (just like all their pizzas). I invited my eldest daughter to join my husband and me in trying it out, and we ordered up a Papa's Favorite — minus the mushrooms, for my daughter's sake.

I called the order in to Papa Murphy's then turned on the oven to 425 degrees. By the time my daughter and I got back from picking up the Fresh Pan pizza, the oven was ready.

Eighteen minutes later, out it came.

The crust baked up buttery and golden, the inner portion hot and cheesy.

My thoughts — along with those from my daughter and husband — on the Papa Murphy's Fresh Pan pizza:

  • The crust was perfect — golden and buttery but not too greasy, as pan pizzas often can be.
  • The ingredients were indeed fresh and tasty.
  • The baking instructions were simple and accurate.
  • The taste overall? Truly delicious.

The Fresh Pan pizza from Papa Murphy's is $9 for a large one-topping pizza. It's offered only in the large size, which serves 2-3 people (which was the perfect size for our taste test, especially because we ordered some Cheesy Bread to go with). Our Papa's Favorite, which has pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, mixed onions, green peppers and black olives (and mushrooms if you don't request those taken off) was $14. Which seems a pretty good deal for a homemade meal.

Bottom line: I'll be ordering the Papa Murphy's Fresh Pan pizza again. Great stuff, made by Papa Murphy's and baked by me.
