The Saturday Post: Hallmark didn't invent Mother's Day edition

Mother's Day sometimes gets a bad rap as being a holiday created by greeting card companies. They didn't, my friends. History — and the History Channel — prove it (and prove the one who did create it, was actually none too pleased by greeting card peddlers taking it over).

Interesting stuff, this (note: it doesn't play on most mobile devices):

    Happy Saturday!

    Today's question:

What are your Mother's Day plans?

Sounds like 'the big greeting card' companies have taken over many of our holidays. Grandparents Day wasn't created by them either.

Due to the weather forecast, our Mother's Day plans are up for grabs. meh. It doesn't matter as long as everyone is healthy :)

We will start Mother's Day early with the Rockies "Home Run For The Homeless" race at Coors field. (I will probably just walk the track inside the field with the little kids). In the evening we will have a picnic at a park.
Happy Mother's Day to you, Lisa.

I've already had a nice lunch and visit with one of my favorite people for Mother's Day (thank you, LISA) and a lovely gift of goodies (thanks, BECKY) and an invitation to have breakfast out with a bunch of friend mothers (thanks DEBBIE & sherrie). Now, only four more to go.

    I love my grown-up KIDS!

Happy Mothers Day to everyone! Loved the history lesson! Amara is spending the night tonight and we are going to make her Mommy (special request) Lemon Monkey Bread. What a wonderful way to spend the day. Hope tomorrow is wonderful Lisa!
