The Saturday Post

Megan and Preston celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary this past week. Below is the video Brianna created for the ceremony, the video that had everyone in tears.

I'm sharing this with you because it gives a little more background on the adorable little kids who grew up to be the awesome parents of my sweet Bubby.

(Plus, it has some pretty cool shots of my three goofy baby girls!)

Happy Anniversary, Megan and Preston!

Gah! I still cry every single time I watch that!

Come back again tomorrow for another anniversary post, one of a different sort -- the sort with something in it for you!

Happy Saturday, everyone!

The Saturday Post

I like to ask questions at the end of each post. The answers tell me a lot about my readers, lets us all get to know a little better.

Someone else likes asking questions, too, and executes it in a far more creative manner than I do. I love this!

Here is "Fifty People, One Question: New York." The question: "Before the end of today, what would you wish to happen?"

For more of the same, visit Fifty People, One Question.

Today's question:

What do YOU wish would happen before the end of today?

My favorite line addresses something I lament regularly: "What I deserve is a pair of jeans that will fit on me and deliver me to a destiny of a no self-conscious soul."

Happy Saturday to all you wrinkled ladies -- and to you non-wrinkled (and non-lady) folks, too!

The Saturday Post

As a mom knee-deep in diapers, teen tantrums or trying to figure yet another dinner that the entire family will eat, it's easy to forget.

As a grandma years -- and often miles -- from the action, it's easy to forgot.

In the midst of all the craziness that's part and parcel of mothering, grandmothering, it's oh-so easy to forget the simple things that make up family life, the simple things that one misses when they're gone.

Author Katrina Kenison give us this heartfelt reminder of those things, those oft-forgotten little pieces of parenting that make up "The Gift of An Ordinary Day."

You can read more of Ms. Kineson's touching essays in "The Gift of An Ordinary Day: A Mother's Memoir."

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend!

The Saturday Post

I like to make the Saturday post about something my readers may not have seen. Maybe it's a movie, an awesome author, a thought-provoking speaker.

Today it's about music. Mashed up music. Similar to those literary mashups of Jane Austen and vampires or Lincoln and vampires.

Only this kind of mashup involves no vampires, just a pretty darn talented guy called DJ Earworm. Many of the mashups, while incredibly catchy and cool, might not be the cuppa tea of the Grandma's Briefs readers, but I do think you'll like this one. I certainly do.

If you enjoyed that, take a look at some of DJ Earworm's other mashups. They're infinitely entertaining. And yes, they do result in earworms!

Happy Saturday!
