K minus 7 days, plus GRAND Social No. 64

In seven days, Bubby starts kindergarten. I simply cannot believe it. How did we get from this...

newborn grandsonGramma meets Bubby — June 2008

    to this...

grandson and grandmaBubby and Gramma — July 2013

    so darn quickly?

I have a feeling all grandparents — and parents, too — are similarly flummoxed by how quickly time flies. Bittersweet in so many ways.

Speaking of time, it's time for GRAND Social No. 64. Thank you for joining me!

    link party

    How it works:

    • All grandparent bloggers are invited to add a link. You don't have to blog specifically about grandparenting, just be a grandparent who blogs.
    • To link up a post, copy the direct URL to the specific post — new or old — that you want to share, not the link to your blog's home page. Then click the blue button marked with "Add your link" below and follow the directions.
    • You can add up to three posts, but no duplicates, contests, giveaways, or Etsy sites, please.
    • Adding a mention such as This post linked to the GRAND Social to your linked posts is appreciated. Or, you can post the GRAND Social button anywhere on your page using the following code:

    Grandma’sBriefs.com

    <a href="http://grandmasbriefs.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://grandmasbriefs.squarespace.com/storage/GRANDsocialbutton.jpg " alt="Grandma’sBriefs.com" width="125" height="125" /></a>

    • The GRAND Social linky is open for new posts through Wednesday evening, so please come back to see those added after your first visit.
    • If you're not a blogger, you have the pleasure of being a reader. Bloggers who link up would be honored to have one and all — other bloggers as well as readers — visit, read and, if so moved, comment, even if just a "Hey, stopping by from the GRAND Social."

I haven't yet figured out why the milestones of my Grandkids seem to hit me harder than the milestones of my kids, but they do. My Granddaughter starts 1st grade two weeks from today. Where did the time go?!

Hang in there, Gramma...and big hugs from a Nonnie who knows the feeling!!

I can't get over how early school is starting there! Typically we ( PA ) don't start until the very end of August or early Sept! :)

What great pictures and like you I can't believe how quickly time passes -- and I do think Grandparent time goes faster than Parent time! 3 weeks and 1 day and Amara starts FOURTH grade! HOW? I would also like to get on my soapbox again -- I wish all the schools had the same schedule! I remember myself how frustrating it was when the school I attended was on a different schedule than the school the other neighborhood kids attended.
Thank you for hosting us this morning and thanks for listening. Have a great week everyone!

The older I get, the faster the time flies! This year I will have three grandchildren in elementary school and one in preschool. Wow. Thanks for hosting this party for us "more mature" bloggers! I hope you have a great week.

Not a blogger myself but love reading and seeing pictures from Grandma's Briefs and others of your mutual friends.

My grandchildren are all pretty much grown up so it's THEIR children who are growing up nearly overnight. You young Grandmas "ain't seen nothing yet" so far as time flying!

Have a good week all. And thanks for another wonderful list of blogs to check out, Lisa.

    It does pass so quickly.

It's hard to believe isn't it? My oldest grandson has to wait an entire year to attend kindergarten as he was born in December and the cut off date to attend in Colorado was that he had to be five by August 1. I guess it means we get to keep him young a little longer ..lol!

Good luck and best wishes to Bubby as he begins the exciting adventure of attending school!

I love these two photos, Lisa! Hard to believe they go from teeny tiny to an unbelted seat on the yellow bus! Our twins are starting too.....and it's a big deal....no matter how many times you go through it!
Bubby is your #1 and will always have that special bond with you! Congrats to him and hugs for you!
