Deck blessings! Plus, GRAND Social No. 210 link party for grandparents

    Deck blessings!

May is always a challenging month in Colorado, weather wise, as temps rise and fall in grand rollercoaster fashion. It can be in the 70s one day, blizzard like the next, sunny and clear the day after. Once June arrives, though, the chance of snow has pretty much disappeared and summer-like spring days are more the norm.

Last Friday was such a day. I decided to soak up the sun while kicking back on my deck for an afternoon nap. Three minutes into it, though, I gave in to the natural blessings surrounding me and opted to grab photos instead of shut eye. Here are a few shots of what I caught, never moving more than a few feet from my Adirondack chair.

Counting my bountiful blessings from my deck proved far more refreshing than catching up on my zzzzs.

    GRAND Social No. 210

I'm also blessed by so many wonderful participants in the weekly GRAND Social link party week after week. Thank you for being here!

    grand social link party

    How it works:

    • All grandparent bloggers are invited to add a link. You don't have to blog about grandparenting, just be a grandparent who blogs.
    • Grandparents who do not blog (or want to share something other than their own post) are welcome to add links to other posts grandparent readers may be interested in.
    • To link up a post, copy the direct URL to the specific post — new or old — that you want to share, not the link to the blog or website home page. Then click the blue button below marked "Add your link" and follow the directions.
    • I reserve the right to remove posts I feel are inappropriate. (Which hasn't happened yet, but I feel obligated to note that, just in case.)
    • Those who add links to the GRAND Social link party will be sent a weekly reminder when the party goes live. If you prefer to be removed from that email list, feel free to do so (and you'll still be more than welcome to join the party any time).
    • If adding your own post, including a mention such as This post linked to the GRAND Social to your linked posts is appreciated. Or, you can post the GRAND Social button anywhere on your page using the following code:
    <a rel="nofollow" href="" target="blank"><img src="" alt="Grandma’" width="125" height="125" /></a>
    • The GRAND Social linky accepts posts through Wednesday evening, so please come back to see those added after your first visit.
    • If you're not a linker, you have the pleasure of being a reader. Those sharing a link would be honored to have you visit, read and, if so moved, leave a comment even if just "Hey, stopping by from the GRAND Social." Bloggers who link are encouraged to visit and comment on the links of other bloggers, as well.

Oh Lisa how true. I love sitting on my deck and watching nature go about her business. Makes me feel more alive and content.

What beautiful photography. I get to visit my son in Denver in I can't wait to experience some Colorado weather!

I love that magical moment when you know winter's cold has passed and you're thisclose to summer!

Except for replacing the pansies with impatiens (that's all I can grow!) I could duplicate every one of your photos from my own deck! Our squirrel was lounging in that exact same position yesterday - waiting, no doubt, for the old lady to toss out a second serving of peanuts! We've got both types of bird feeders, too, the robin nest, and a companion dog who's just happy to be enjoying spring outside with the rest of us!
Beautiful pictures! I tried to take our nest and all I got was a blob!

I understand the weather. Utah is like that, too, at times. I love your pictures -- especially of the pansies.

We are fortunate not to be having the hot June that Arizona and S CA is having! I love all your photos, but the baby birds looking for food was my favorite! So many mouths to!

    Wow. Amazing photography!

Great photos, it's amazing what you can see in your own backyard. We also have a robin's nest, just outside our backdoor. So fun to watch their development, they are just about ready to leave the nest. Thanks again for hosting.

I can sure see why you would be hit with the urge to pick up your camera -- such great models! That is one very fat squirrel! Thanks for hosting and for the pretty pictures!
