My daughter the marathoner, plus the GRAND Social

    mother runner

Please indulge me as I enjoy a moment of motherly boasting. You see, my daughter Megan is awesome. Well, all three of my daughters are awesome, but in light of Megan's participation in yesterday's LA Marathon, today she tops Mom's List of Awesome.

In yesterday's post, I shared as Megan and my grandsons (and Preston, too) set out on Megan's marathon adventure. Today I share with you the results. Of the more than 22,000 participants, here is how my middle daughter did in her first full (26.2 mile) marathon:

    LA Marathon results

Like I said, Megan is awesome. I am so, so proud of her.

Bubby had some awesome fun of his own while in California, finding sport of a different sort on the beach during this — only his second ever — ocean-side experience:

Awesomeness awaits the rest of us, courtesy this week's GRAND Social. Thank you for joining me!

    link party

    How it works:

    • All grandparent bloggers are invited to add a link. You don't have to blog specifically about grandparenting, but you must be a grandparent who blogs.
    • To link up, copy the direct URL to the specific post — new or old — that you want to share, not the link to your blog's home page. Then click the blue "Click here to enter" text below and follow the directions to add your post and graphic to the list.
    • You can add up to three posts, but no duplicates, please, and none you have promoted on a previous GRAND Social linky. And no contests, giveaways, or Etsy sites, please.
    • Adding a mention at the bottom of your linked posts, such as This post has been linked to the GRAND Social linky, is appreciated. Or, you can post the GRAND Social button anywhere on your page using the following code:

    Grandma’sBriefs.com

    <a href="http://grandmasbriefs.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://grandmasbriefs.squarespace.com/storage/GRANDsocialbutton.jpg " alt="Grandma’sBriefs.com" width="125" height="125" /></a>

    • The GRAND Social linky is open for new posts through Wednesday evening, so please come back to see those added after your first visit.
    • If you're not a blogger, you have the pleasure of being a reader. All bloggers who link up would be honored to have you all — bloggers and readers — visit, read and comment, even if it's just "Hey, stopping by from the GRAND Social."

Thank you for participating in the GRAND Social!

Your daughter is awesome. My youngest daughter too runs in marathons...these two would get along great! Isn't so fun to have children that you can be so proud of? Thanks for the Grand Social.

Congrats to Megan and California did give them a perfect day! Love the beach video and hearing Bubby's voice! Here is to a winning week!

Megan is beautiful and well accomplished, but forgive me - that photo of the little guys side by side in the red sweatshirts? Couldn't take my eyes off how cute they are and what a sweet composition that picture is!

Wow 26+ miles! That's great! Congratulations Megan! The kids looked like they were having fun, too! Thanks for hosting!

Kudos to Megan! You have a lot to be proud of.
I love the pic of the little guys in their red sweatshirts. I remember when you announced Mac was on the way and now he is a little man.

Thank you, everyone! Megan will be truly flattered to see all the kind words from all of you. It's one thing when Mom gives you kudos and something totally different (sometimes even more appreciated) when it comes from others.

I love all the comments about my cute grandsons, too. Yes, it is hard to believe (as Jeanie said) that it wasn't all that long ago that we all anticipated Mac's arrival. And now he's already a real boy, not just a baby.

Thanks for the comments, my friends. And for the awesome links you're sharing, too!

Well done Megan, so proud of you.

How proud you must be! Megan should be proud of herself too ;0) What a wonderful experience for everyone. Thank you for sharing that with us.

How wonderful, she is awesome! I love that video of Bubby! So fun to watch them play in the water, or with it :)

Congratulations Mom on such an awesome daughter! I have a daughter who is a marathon runner too - she's run a couple, one a mid-mountain run in Park City Utah that was treacherous to say the least. Currently she's training for one in Alaska. Bless her running heart! And your daughter's as well. That's such a feat (no pun intended)!

    And she's adorable to boot!

How fun! Mega congrats to all! And oh my, that beach picture has just added to my spring fever - even as I sit typing in long sleeves with the weather back in the 20s :) Have a lovely AND warm spring week!
