What I learned this week: Love in action

As I mentioned last week, it's important to learn new things all the time — even if you have to dig deep to define after the fact what those lessons have been.

This week, I learned quite a bit about copy editing for a website that's not mine, as I started new online gig as a copy editor for SheKnows.com. Expounding on that lesson would be quite boring to many of you, I'm sure, so I have another lesson I learned this week that I'd like to share. (Yes, I did indeed learn two things this week!)

Here is what I learned this week: I learned that if I keep my iPhone close by, move quickly, and not let the subjects notice I think it's a big deal, I can catch love in action.

Love between Mickey (one of my dogs) and Abby (one of my cats):

    cat loves dog

    cat and pointer pit

     dog loves cat

This post linked to Grandparents Say It Saturday.

     Today's question:

What did you learn this week?

I learned I'm going to have to be faster on the draw with my cell phone camera because I've truly enjoyed your photos this week.

Mickey's eyes are priceless in the 2nd photo, although I'm not 100% sure what she's saying. Thanks for starting my Friday with a big smile :) That pic's going on my Pinterest board... absolutely adorable!

Perfect! I don't think I have ever seen a better looking dog, ever!

Mickey looks like he's embarrassed to have been caught getting loved by a cat, adorable!

I've finally found a doggie treat my little Diamond likes and will actually eat, after she plays with it, rolling it around and tossing it in the air first. Took me nine months to discover it.

What beautiful love! If all of us humans could just learn to get along that well!

This week I re-learned that no matter which lens I have on the camera -- it will be the wrong one! And if the other one is close by -- by the time I change the lens the photo is missed....

What sweetness to capture! And congrats on the new job!

ah sweet! I learned that google reader is being retired on July 1st. Do you have any suggestions for alternate viewing of blogs in a reader format? Congrats on your new job.

What fun photos! Mickey looks a little embarrassed by all the loving going on!

Congratulations on the new job!! I like the "SheKnows" web site -- it's fun and educational and they have lots of ideas grandparents will enjoy!

PS: Did you get my e-mail I sent through your side bar e-mail link? I had a question to your comment on my St. Pat's blog post! :)

Thanks, everyone! Glad you found the pics pinworthy, NonnieKelly. Wasn't too sure, considering they were on my phone.

Ann: Yay for Diamond and yummy treats!

    Jim: :-D

Kc: I know what you mean. I've missed far too many shots trying to swap out lenses quickly. And I have one (Canon) that's supposedly a simple switch. Good luck!

Kelley: Yes, there is an answer to the Google Reader elimination, at least according to this post from the ever-wise Kludgy Mom - http://www.kludgymom.com/how-to-survive-without-google-reader/.

Pat: YES, I wrote you right back last night. ?? I just sent it again, just in case it disappeared somehow. Let me know if it didn't arrive. And just know that hicks are not an issue! :-D (Oh, and I think you're right: Mickey is a tad embarrassed I busted him and Abby loving on one another. His look was, 'You better not to put this on your blog!')

Great photos Lisa. Congratulations on your new gig, Lisa.

Today Wellington has started water restrictions because of the drought. I have learned how to save on water usage. I realise not very exciting.

How Cute! Mikey looks a little uncomfortable with you photographing his secret relationship, but he does look content with Ms Abby.

I learned quite a bit about myself this week. We have been on a stay-cation. After 95 days on the job (whole house remodel out of town) we got to hang out with each other only doing things we wanted to do. On one of our meditative motorcycle rides I had lots of time to think and reflect. During that time I discovered that I really missed my creative life I had before house remodeling, grandkids, and other responsibilities came along. I am going to dig out my sculpting & painting supplies and get back in touch with that part of myself.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

I've learned that I probably have a lot to learn next week...I just got a brand new laptop! LOL Your dog and cat pictures are great. Have a happy St. Pat's Day!

That is so sweet! Two of my cats will do the same thing to our lab/shep mix. She stands there with the same nervous look on her face - not quite sure what to do, but unwilling to mess with a cat - even though Roxie could slurp them both up like dainty hors doeuvres!

I know how hard it is to capture a shot like that! My cat snuggles up to Jugsy and as soon as I go for the camera one of them moves. I think I got ONE pic this entire year of them

Yours is adorable! Congrats on the new writing gig too...! :)

I am trying to learn how not to miss the grandson so much that it overtakes my life. Sigh....

I've learned this week that things don't always go the way I would liike. That I need to find peace in any situation that comes my way. Seems like I keep learning this one ;) Enjoy the moment! Great pictures...so sweet.

Oh my gosh! I love those pics! Your dogs expression is so sweet!! I recognize that look too, Daisy has it :)
