Photo replay: Boys of summer
Sunday, September 2, 2012 Savoring every last drop of summer:

Today's question:
What do you consider the official end of summer?

Jim (long-time hubby) and Lisa (me)
Andrea (youngest daughter) and Brianna (oldest daughter)

Preston (son-in-law) and Megan (middle daughter)

Bubby and Mac — Bloggy nicknames of Gramma's favorite boys (children of Megan and Preston)

The last day of summer is official when I have to wear shoes and socks vs. my flip flops/sandals.
Eek...I don't want to!
I guess this weekend. I love fall and I'm ready for some pumpkins and baking. Shoot it was so warm in Ohio last winter I wore flip flps all winter refering to NonnieKelly's comment. Have a wonderful holiday weekend Lisa. Bubby and Mac look like they are still enjoying the summer :) So cute!
When the water in the creek is too cold to swim in, which usually happens Labor Day weekend.
I don't like to let go of summer, but when I have to wear a hat and coat to walk the dog I have to admit it is over.......hopefully that is a while away.
~The end of summer is the "around Labor Day" cook-out!
I guess the end of summer to me is Labor Day weekend but the weather here is still saying summer. Fall is my favorite season so I can hardly wait!
I guess living where we do in southern California I don't think about the seasons much or about summer being over. I look forward to summer starting -- which is when the lilies start blooming and Amara gets out of school but I never thought much about when it ends?
End of March is what I consider to be the last day of Summer in New Zealand.
I think of Labor Day as being the end of summer, although I understand Sept. 21 is the actual official end.
Well...the end of camping is a few weeks before we anticipate a freeze because we have to winterize the Coleman. But, the end of gardening is when everything has gone dormant and there is no outside gardening work left to be done. I push the season until there is absolutely nothing left.
Who knows anymore with the weird weather patterns. It sure isn't this weekend ...back to being hot and muggy
Summer isn't over till Sept 21...or the first frost ? I guess its when you have to go gather the rest of the tomatoes or cover flowers or veggies with a blanket to save it from the frost...( IF you live in a colder climate :)
