Yesterday at Gramma's: Beating the heat
Tuesday, June 26, 2012 Our plan for the day was a picnic at America the Beautiful Park, with time for splashing in the pools. Unfortunately, high temps and smoke from the wildfire spurred us to devise a Plan B—an afternoon at iT'Z Family Food & Fun.
Maybe not so unfortunate after all.
Note: While my grandsons are in town, posts will be short on text and long on photos, with the exception of Monday's GRAND Social linky and Wednesday's Grilled Grandma, which will be featured as always.
Today's question:
What's your favorite way to beat the heat with kids?

I actually prefer to do inside projects in an air conditioned house when it is really hot. We save the crazy outside fun for pleasant weather! And by the way, Lisa, your grandsons are adorable! You are really packing lots of fun into this visit too!
Super Soakers! But you knew that already! Hope you're surviving the smoke and having a blast.
iT'z Family Fun Center was a great idea for the boys, although the park would've been alot cheaper.....too bad Mr. Bigg's Fun Center closed down.
The movies is a great way to stay cool....if they are old enough to sit thru the whole movie. My ten year old granddaughter loves the movies and running thru the sprinkler in our backyard.
The smoke from the fires is really bad this morning.....stay cool!
When we hit 100 later this week I'll probably opt for the A/C indoors. Otherwise, it's bring on the sprinklers.
Very sorry to read about the smoke from the wildfires and hope that everyone in the vicinity stays safe and sound.
Love the pic!
Your grandsons are handsome dudes, and I hope the fires come under control soon. My grandkids have one of those blue above ground pools - they love it and my daughter filled it up right before we had the first heat wave. So, on hot days I sit in a chair watching them while they splash around.
The wee folk love to chase ice in the water table or pool. Lots and lots of Popsicles. Playdate is supposed to be 100 degrees this week. So sorry about the terrible fires and smoke.
Lisa, enjoy the time with your beautiful grandsons.
It doesn't get awful hot in Wellington we like to get out of the city to visit our dear friends in a little place called Waikanae which is approximately 1 hour drive north of Wellington.
105 yesterday in Corpus. I'm not doing anything outside. We had the girls over the weekend, we spent early evenings playing in the water.
Looks like y'all had fun. I would definitely try to stay indoors. The smoke can cause so many respiratory problems for everyone. We had a few grass fires in the neighborhood last week and I've been coughing ever since.
