Yesterday at Gramma's: First things first

Hunting for treasure—aka coins PawDad buries in the sand—has always been one of Bubby's favorite things to do at Gramma and PawDad's house. So when I picked up Megan and the boys at the airport yesterday, Bubby's first request was to hunt for treasure when we got home.

Which is exactly what Bubby and Mac did.

    Today's question:

When did you last play in sand, whether in a sandbox, at the beach or elsewhere?

Ah! Love playing in the sand, even at my ripe old age! I guess my last time was in Hawaii when I went for my son's law school graduation. That's been a few years. I remember taking my sandals off and enjoying the feeling of the sand between my toes. I need to get back to Hawaii!

When my now grown-up kids were younger and lived at home, we'd make trips up to Cripple Creek and look for treasures of turquoise along the sides of the roads. Not exactly playing in the sand but the sand and stones along the sides of the roads did indeed yield up a few precious stones, and, Cripple Creek turquoise has a particular greenish tint to it, certainly worth picking up.

Wonderful picture! Glad you and the boys are having fun. It has only been a few weeks since I last played in the sand. Took Amara to the beach and we had fun burying each other. We plan to do lots more beach trips this summer! Happy Friday!

They are so cute! I haven't played in the sand since 2007 when we went on a trip to Cabo San Lucas.(if you don't count the times I play with the grand kids ion the sand box) Thats way too long ago!

I agree with Terri...I need to go back home to Hawaii to enjoy really beautiful beach sand. The last time I did that was 7 years ago!

What a cool idea of PawDad's.....that'll keep them busy for awhile. Such a cute picture Baby Mac watching his big brother!

Last played in the sand a few weeks ago when husband and I vacationed on the beach to celebrate our anniversary and our birthdays.

    Miss it already!

They are adorable and it is clear that they are having so much fun!

Turtle sandbox on one end of my front porch ...I guess vacuaming sand after every visit from the kids can be considered playing ? :)
