How Grandma sees it: Changes in parenting from the firstborn to the second
Monday, March 12, 2012 Bubby, my first grandson, at nine months old:

Baby hair everywhere.
Baby Mac, my second grandson, at nine months old:
Baby hair buzzed.
To be continued ... !
Today's question:
When did you last cut someone else's hair and how did it turn out?

I've never cut someone else's hair...or my own. I still have memories (and pics) from grade school showing my Mom's attempt at cutting my bangs.
Another lesson my Mom taught me...ha!
I chop at my own hair all the time. I once cut my daughter 's hair when she was sixteen and asked me too. As it was very long it was to be cut straight across well it wasn't straight and I had to pay for her to go to the hairdressers. Entirely her fault fir asking me!
I used the electric cutter on the S.O. a couple years ago. It was a disaster. He does it himself now. Milo will go to a salon for his first cut. Which won't happen any time soon, if I have my say.
I used to cut my bangs all the time, from about age 4 lol, those pics are horrible. But as I got older I got better. I cut my husbands and grandsons hair regularly.
I cut my own bangs on a regular basis but it has been a long time since I cut anyone else's hair-- oh, I cut some furballs off of Shebee (the cat) yesterday. Does that count?
I cut my own all the time but haven't anybody else's for so long I've forgotten when it was.
The boys both look cute.
I cut my own hair for years. I cut my stepdaughter's hair a few times when she was a teen, but I'm a slow cutter and it took forever so I took her to a salon. Tried cutting my hubby's hair but he won't sit still long enough either. Same with grandson...I trimmed his bangs once while he was watching TV but there are people who really know how to get the job done quickly.
By the way, I loved my grandson's longer hair; now (at 5) he likes it short. Sigh.
Those boys are so cute!
I trim the bottom of my granddaughter's hair whenever she needs it.......to save a few dollars when all she needs is to have her ends trimmed. Plus she doesn't mind and she trusts me!
Lisa, your grandsons are so adorable, always love seeing their photos. It is lovely to see them growing into healthy little boys.
Never, never would I attempt to cut anyones hair. Have been known to cut knots out of Lucy's when necessary.
"Let me just trim the back for you....okay, it's a little uneven; let me even it up for you...ooops now that side is shorter. sorry about that. just let me....where are you going?"
What a coincidence. Katy & I were just discussing how different parenting your second child is from parenting your first child when she was here this weekend. She said that one of the big differences for her is that when something falls on the floor now, she just dusts it off on her pants and gives it back. With the first one, everything got sterilized.
