Three-word Thursday: New camera lens
Thursday, December 27, 2012 (Jim gave me a new telephoto lens for Christmas. This is my first shared photo using that lens, taken from my living room window.)
(PS: This week you got Three-word Thursday instead of One-word Wednesday because, to be quite honest, I forgot what day it was when I wrote yesterday's post. The holidays can do that to you.)
(PSS: Words italicized and in parentheses don't count in post word counts today.)
Today's question:
What unexpected gift did you receive for Christmas, tangible or intangible?

That's amazing!
That's amazing! (there are my two words for the close-up of that precious little face; you'd never be able to get close enough to a darling little wild creature to get that shot without your new lens!).
I didn't expect a warm cuddly new robe but it sure was nice wearing it last night. NOT to bed but I did get a bubble bath and put it on over pajamas at six p.m. and wore it all evening.
WOW, what a great closeup!
I got tickets to go to the last Denver Broncos game this Sunday! They are awesome seats in the first level...I don't care if it's going to be cold, I'm excited.
Amazing photo! I look forward to your future pictures with that new lens! I received a Kindle Fire for Christmas. I did not expect something so extravagant and am in a blissful state because of it. I am truly in love.
Thanks for the kudos on the shot, everyone. I love my new lens!
Ann: Oh, what a cozy and comfy gift. And curling up in it at 6 p.m. sounds divine!
Debbie: YAY! I can just imagine how thrilled you are with that gift!! I'll be thinking of you (and scanning the crowd for you!) as we watch the game Sunday. Stay warm and enjoy!!
Terri: You lucky dog! I've been trying to win one of those. I never thought I'd be super excited about an e-reader, being a huge fan of holding a printed book in hand, but I believe I've finally reached the point to take the dive into electronic books and the Kindle Fire is my preferred way...eventually. Enjoy! (And I bet it's just so cool to be able to bring up your very own book on it, "Sara's Sleep"!)
That is an amazing shot Lisa!! Wow. How much fun you will have taking pictures.
I wasn't expecting the wonderful stocking full of goodies that I got. Lots of fun little trinkets.
Happy New Year to you and yours.
Stunning photo. Thank Jim from your readers, I am sure we are in for some real treats this year. Yesterday I spent the day in NYC with my older two sons, readying them for next semester and their summer jobs (very different attire their college wear) as they begin the journey into the working world. For a mom of boys, where shopping is not a big part of our lives, it was a real holiday treat, with Rockefeller Center, a snow storm and all!!
Three words: Granddaughter wanted sleepover.
(Intangible and made my heart melt. Can't believe she asked to sleep over at our house Christmas night and left her new toys! We were so busy during the holidays that we couldn't do sleepovers and she missed us. We missed her, too...so the sleepover was a wonderful and unexpected gift.)
Renee: A stocking filled with trinkets sounds like fun to me. Great stuff, I'm sure. Happy New Year to you and yours, as well!
Grown and Flown: Jim will be flattered at your comment to thank him. I am, too. :-D Your Christmastime shopping excursion is the stuff of dreams to me. Something I hope to one day do. I can imagine it was indeed a huge treat, for you and the boys!
Nonnie Kelly: Definitely an intangible designed for melting a grandma's heart. How sweet of your granddaughter. What a super sleepover it surely turned out to be. So sweet! And surely needed after your crazy crunch time with your business. Glad you got what you deserved.
Wonderful picture of your furry neighbor. I wanted a new lens, too but it wasn't in Santa's budget this year -- but a girl can dream! The most unexpected gift I got is a bike from the kids!! It isn't here yet but shipped today. We live next to a gorgeous bike path that Amara and I used to walk a lot -- now we plan to ride it together!! She and I are both very excited about it.
