Photo replay: Grandma playdate
Sunday, October 28, 2012 While in the desert visiting my grandsons, I had the pleasure of meeting my bloggy friend and fellow grandma, Connie from Family Home and Life. I assure you, she's just as delightful and down-to-earth in person as she seems to be from on her blog.
Bubby and Mac—whom she now knows by their real names—adored her, warming to her in ways not typical of my grandsons when it comes to strangers. Her grandma appeal was undeniable, and they were happy to share stories and hugs with her, without coercion from Gramma.
Thank you to Bubby for his exceptional job in using Gramma's camera to capture a few photos of the two grandmas together. Thank you especially to Connie for taking time from her busy schedule to meet my grandsons and me in real life and for the delicious gift of her famous Mason Jar 3-2-1 Cake. It was a true pleasure.
Today's question:
How often have you had the pleasure of meeting online friends in person?

Great pics of you two / so nice you could have that time together! :)
Bubby has inherited his Gramma's 'photography' genes...cute pic of two cute Gmas (and Mac:)
Haven't yet met an online friend in person, but sometimes I feel as if I have.
Glad you both had a good visit!
I have never met, in person, a friend from online but happy for you to have done so. That should cement your friendship even further.
Glad you both, with the boys, had a good time.
Like NonnieKelly there are a few online blog buddies that I feel like I know quite well and they are like long distance friends. HOWEVER! I did have the pleasure of meeting and having lunch and conversation with one of my blog buddies -- Penny from So Humor Me....
While I would love to go to a blogers conventions what I would really love is coffee with all of you! So glad you got a chance to meet Connie and that she got to meet the boys, too! Great photos!
wow, what a great thing to be able to do! i have yet to meet any of my bloggy friends, but i would love to one day! this was so nice! :)
I have, yes, and it is such an odd, but good, feeling to be meeting "for the first time" someone who is already a dear friend.
What a nice blog friend meeting! Connie's Mason jar cake sounds like a fun and useful gift. Bubby did a fantastic job pcture taking, Lisa! I have met quite a few blog friends over the past few years and enjoyed each get together very much as it always feel like they are an old friend that I have much in common with. I can't wait to meet you one day when I move to Colorado! :)
Hi Lisa! It was great to meet you too and your adorable grand sons. I was amazed at Bubby's picture taking skills! Such good kids too.
How wonderful for both of you to finally meet up.
Yes I meet Norman online we have been together now for 14 years & married for 10 years. Unfortunately not meet any of my female friends that I have meet online. One day I hope to get back to the States & meet up with some of them. :)
Far too rarely is the answer. It would be so lovely to meet some of the wonderful friends I have made in the blogging world, yourself included! Bubby did take lovely pictures. L.
I have a few friends whom I met through an online support group that I've also met in real life. But I know three or four of my bloggy friends IRL and I knew them before we started blogging. I would love an opportunity to meet some of my fellow grandma bloggers. Maybe we should plan a meet and greet weekend some day just for grandma bloggers.
I haven't had an opportunity to meet anyone, but would be all for a 'grandma blogging convention.'
I am so happy for both of you that this meeting worked out! The pictures are wonderful! And now Bubby and Mac can add yet another loving grandma to their list of adoring "extended relatives!"
