The Saturday Post: Project Yosemite edition

I would love to be a world traveler. Thing is, I've not even seen much of the United States. So before I set sail across seas near and far, I need to spend some time in my own back yard, my own country.

With that in mind, one of the destinations at the top of my National-Parks-I-must-see list is this, Yosemite National Park. The following beautiful time-lapse video does much to tide me over until I can get there:

    Today's question:

Which National Parks are your favorite? Which do you hope to eventually see?

Yosemite is definitely number one on my list. We are tentatively planning our first trip there for September of this year. Hopefully, the stars will align and we'll get there. Next on my list is the Grand Canyon. I'm adding that to my itinerary next time we go to Las Vegas.

Do you know the story behind our National Parks? It's a very interesting story documented by Ken Burns in his documentary series "The National Parks: America's Best Idea." I highly recommend it.

Yellowstone is my favorite and I think every American should go there at least once, especially every one or my family. It's like another planet, a beautiful one, with something amazing and mind-
    boggling at every turn.
I'd also like to go, again, to the Smokey Mountains and New England (first time) in the autumn.

It's hard to go wrong with the biggies--Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, and the Grand Canyon. They've become household names because they have such amazing landscapes. But I have to add Acadia in Maine and Bryce Canyon in Utah as two that my family thoroughly enjoyed visiting.

We had a chance to visit Yosemite a few years ago in the fall. We missed the waterfalls, but everything else was spectacular. I'd love to go back in the spring. So far I have also visited
Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Glacier, Zion and Bryce, and Everglades. We live in a beautiful country--worth exploring.

The Grand Canyon is really the only one I have seen and I would love to see them all! But if I had to pick a place to start I would go back to the Grand Canyon and see the other side! Maybe even walk out on the Glass Bridge if I can get Grampy to let me!

Beautiful video! Makes me want to travel. I've never seen the great parks in the northwest and California. I've never seen Yellowstone either. I want to see them all. Those giant sequoia trees are amazing in pictures. I want to see them for real. Some day....

If you go to Yosemite, you must go in the late spring/early summer when the waterfalls are at their best! I think Yosemite might be the only national park I've been to! I would love to visit Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon.
