Photo replay: Run, Andie, run
My youngest daughter, Andrea, set a personal record in her most recent five-mile run, yesterday's Frosty's Frozen 5 & 10 in Denver. With a final time of 42.32, she broke the 9-minute-mile barrier and averaged 8.5-minute miles. Woo-hoo!

Congratulations to Andie, not only for the PR but for finishing 171st out of 714 overall and 17 out of 82 in her division. (Plus, major props for picture-perfect posing for mom mere moments after crossing the finish line!)
Today's question:
If you could set a personal record in anything—sports-related or not—what would you like your record to be?

After a frustrating day yesterday meeting with clueless wholesalers about gifts for Grandparents, I'd like to set a personal record for shattering Grandparent stereotypes.
Sorry, that's all I've got this morning!
Andrea is and always will be a WINNER!
I'd like to set a record for finishing EVERYthing I start EVERYday.
Way to go Andie! I have a tie between two things I'd like to set a record in, reading the most books in a year and/or seeing the most Pearl Jam shows in one tour!
Congrats Andie.....I admire you and everyone out there that can run for long distances!
I would like to walk 18 holes of golf at any golf course without feeling like I was dying at the end. I usually ride in a golf cart and feel bad when I see 70 yr old women walking!
Great picture! She's amazing. But, that's not surprising. She has awesome parents!
I would like to set a personal record in reading. I am not a fast reader at all and in my Grad school studies, it hinders me somewhat and causes a lot of wasted time. We have massive reading assignments and every time I buy a new text book, I cringe at the thought of possibly not being able to finish it in time. I have managed so far, but would love to set a record for time. Maybe if the subject material weren't so dry? Oy.
Excellent records to set, everyone! I'd like to set a record in number of (quality) books published by a single author in one year. Ready...set...go!
Good Job Andie!!
I would like my personal record/best to be some day being the oldest living member ever in our family. My Grandmother was 95 and my goal has always been to make it to 96 but more than making it I want to be happy and healthy and enjoy getting there!
Congrats to Andie....Way to go and way to look great afterward.
I don't know if I will ever set any records but if I do I'm sure they won't be in long-distance running.
Honestly, I have no need, urge, desire, or drive to set a personal record for anything. I guess you could say I'm not competitive. Except as it pertains to the "other" grandparents. If you know what I mean.
I'd be thrilled to lose 30 pounds by my birthday in March. Ha, ha!
