    Photo replay: Banged-up baby

Despite turning twenty-six years old yesterday, my Andrea is still (thankfully) not too old to ask her mommy to cut her bangs.

Happy birthday to my banged-up baby girl!

    Today's question:

Seems everyone has one: What is your bangs-disaster story?

Her bangs look great! You did a wonderful job. Just how I like mine.

Of course at my age I have lots of bang nightmares. The time my daughter at age 5 cut her own and then denied it adamantly! She will jokingly deny it today if you ask her about it.

The most recent disaster was a few years ago when I made the mistake of letting Grampy trim them. It was the day before my birthday. It wasn't pretty but they did grow back. Which brings me to my biggest complaint!

My hair is almost to my waist and I wear bangs. I need a stylist who will just trim my bangs and not charge me for a hair cut ($50+)! I trim the hair about twice a year but the bangs need once a month at least! I just changed stylist recently and I think I'm going to call her Monday and see if we can't work something out.

She's beautiful, bangs or not. Just lovely!

Love the new bangs. My bangs grow so fast that I often cut them myself. It doesn't bother me to give them a little snip between haircuts, but it drives my hairdresser crazy. She claims that I'm "ruining the line" of her haircut. I just figure that it's my hair and if I screw it up, it'll grow back.

As a teacher, I HATE side bangs on middle school girls. They fall in their eyes repeatedly all day long. Makes me crazy!

Glad it was that kind of banged up and not what I thought when I read the title! Pretty young woman.

She is such a beautiful girl. And great job on the bangs Mom.

I don't have a bad bang story but I'm pretty sure my daughter can tell you one about when I used to cut her bangs!

Your daughter is beautiful and I love her hair. My disaster was one of another's making. Since I went to Cosmetology I cut my families hair. My two and three year old girls were outside playing and occasionally watching me give my husband a haircut and beard trim. They went back inside for my older daughter to get them a drink. When I went inside to put my tools away I discovered their gorgeous hair all over the floor. I thought the three year old had cut their hair but the two year proudly said it was her. The three year old had lost about half of her hair. The two year old had cut her own hair to the scalp ifrom ear to ear which included her bangs. I did the best I could fixing their hair. When my husband came in and looked around then asked if he dared to look in the mirror or not and started laughing I just said "DON"T". No one would believe a two year old did that to her own hair. The whispers in the grocery store were very hurtful. i would cry to think people thought I would intentially do that to my children. Needless to say it was a long time before another haircut for them. And yes their hair grew back out.

I forgot to wish your daughter a Happy Birthday. Hope it is filled with many blessings, much love, and countless memories. Happy Birthday Andrea!

Happy birthday to Andrea. You did a great job on the bangs.
My kids all did a bang-up job of cutting their own hair at one time or another. Never pretty.....but at least it grew out.

Happy birthday to your very cute daughter!

I've worn versions of bangs most of my life. My worst disaster was having them cut too short a few times

    July 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterPat

When my daughter was little, I cut her bangs several times where they wouldn't be straight and I'd keep cutting and cutting to try to even them out until they were very, very short! :)

My bangs disaster story comes from my first grade teacher, who decided one day my bangs were in my eyes and whacked them off...very unevenly, with my safety scissors. Boy did she get an earful after I came home from school and my mother saw them.
