    The Saturday Post: NYE edition

Just in time for the holiday, a version of What Are You Doing New Year's Eve performed by Zooey Deschanel/Joseph Gordon-Levitt has become quite popular on the internet. It's simple fun by two adorable celebrities. I must say, however, that I'm especially partial to the following version of the song, performed by a young non-celebrity gal from Branson named Madeline Huerta. (Chalk it up to the grandma in me, I suppose.)

    Today's question:

What are you doing New Year's Eve?

    HAPPY NEW YEAR, my friend!!!!
I hope you'll be spending it with family and friends!!

It's my birthday, I'm in bed with a migraine (I think counting the years brought it on! :).
But I'm visiting my kids & grandbrats, so my day can only get better and a lot more exciting!!
    (One can only hope:)

    Sending love your way ~

We'll go out to dinner with friends but will probably be home and in bed before midnight. I have never been a big midnight celebrator.
    Happy new year to you!

I'll be posing for a new "Whistler's Mother" painting, either knitting or crocheting. Will probably kiss a cat or two and pet two dogs' heads (their tongues are too wet and wiggly for kissing.)

The girl in above video has a really pretty voice. Happy New Year!

    Happy New Year Lisa!

That girl does have an amazing voice but who knew that Zooey Deschanel could play the ukelele??? Liked both versions for different reasons.

As for our New Year's Eve we will spend it celebrating with Amara so her folks can have the night out -- and just because we want to! I've rented The Sound of Music and we will probably watch the ball drop on Youtube so she can go to bed at a decent hour (Grandma, too!).

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening and a great new year!!

Happy New Year my friend! I'll be enjoying some decent wine (for a change. Usually it's cheap) and watching the ball drop on TV. Really original, I know. LOL. It's what I do. Usually I doze off a lot and sometimes I try to read or play on my laptop at the same time. It's a Party, I tell ya. Enjoy your celebration! HUGSSs

Usually we sit with the grandkids while their parents go to a party. Tonight the other grandparents are in town, so we will stay home and play with our new iPhones. Maybe we'll set them up to sound an alarm at midnight. We'll probably be asleep!

Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy 2012, Lisa!

My husband and I stay home and watch the NYC Times Square festivities on TV. I cooked a special dinner tonight and we will have some champagne at midnight.

When I was working I was always worked on New Year's Eve and day as I wanted Christmas Eve and Day off, so I never got in the habit of going out.
