I love horses and think they are beautiful animals but I am very afraid to ride them. I don't know why....maybe because I don't like heights or that they are big and powerful and sometimes unpredictable. I think they sense that when I'm near them, so unfortunately, I don't ride.
Yes, Debbie E., they are all that you mention and, having been thrown over forty years ago by a beautiful red-haired Arabian named Tara and having one hip thrown out of place, I still suffer to this day with hip and back pain, after all that (didn't work that well) therapy and manipulation to avoid surgery. I'd say, on a scale of 1 to 10, my "skills" are about a negative (-) 9.5!!!
The last time I road a horse I fell out of the saddle and rode a fairly long distance clutching to the side of the horse, about to drop off a cliff. I learned to drive a car shortly after that and lost all interest in horses.
What a cute photo. I have no horse- riding abilities. The last time I was on a horse was in Yelllowstone Park 15 years ago. They train the horses to move slow and to not make any sudden jerks but I was still terrified and I couldn't walk right for days.
