Another week, another grilled grandma!
Can you believe it's already September? SEPTEMBER? Well, our featured Grilled Grandma for the first of September (aack!) is Dian, and I gotta say, this grandma is the ultimate coupon maven if ever there was one. You can find out why I say that on her website, Grocery Shop For Free.
It's here, though, on Grandma's Briefs, that you can find out why I say Dian is not only a coupon queen, but the ultimate Nana as well. By reading Grilled Grandma: Dian, you'll find out:
1. What Dian's daughter thinks Dian has trouble keeping to herself.
2. Why Dian (unfortunately) no longer gets to see her grandchildren every day.
3. The story of "Daddy jealousy," featuring Dian's granddaughter.
You'll also get to see some of the cutest little kiddos ever (a preview of which is above -- see what I mean!?)!
Once you're done reading Grilled Grandma: Dian, I'd love to hear from you with names of grandmas you would like to see featured as a Grilled Grandma. Whether you nominate yourself, a friend, or a family member, there's more than enough room on the schedule to fit in one and all. All you have to do is send me a first name and e-mail address, and I'll take care of the rest. I promise you this: The grilling won't hurt a bit!
Today's question:
Dian's blog is full of great deals and coupon options. How often do you use coupons when grocery shopping?

I shop the ads and I coupon. My husband has become quite the couponer and ad watcher too. In fact, I am going today. One of my local grocery stores offers 10% off to seniors (55+) on the first Wednesday of the month! So today, I will save by shopping the ads, quadruple coupons, and an additional 10% off because I am a SENIOR!
Interesting note: the store does not ID you to see if you qualify. I have been getting the discount since before I actually earned it. My trick pick a very young cashier. The really young ones look at a forty year old and think they are way over the hill and give you the discount without even asking. Works for me!
I use coupons whenever I can. Since retiring from my last job, I've become more thrifty and look for sales alot more.
I've ALWAYS been a user of coupons, not doing so is just volunteering to pay extra for something, which I can't afford to do; I need the savings more than the grocery store chains do.
I shop sales always and use coupons when they suit me. I still buy in bulk from Costco. But I admit that at times, I tend to buy what I like regardless of the price. Something I couldn't do when we were young and poor!
I love your grilled grandmas. I love that you CALL them grilled grandmas.
I want you to grill my mom some day. Literally. (Haha. Not really. Kinda.)
Off to read! (And to get coffee soon?)
Well, if you're into coupons then you are on my page in life! I LOVE to coupon and I really enjoyed being "grilled!!
Thanks!
Dian
