Pink sky at night
I've made it no secret that I don't like the desert, the place Bubby and his parents call home. It's too cuss hot, there are few -- if any -- real trees, and it's filled with creepy crawly yucky poisonous things.
I must admit, though, that it does provide gorgeous sunsets.
It's certainly not enough to persuade me to move there, but I'm happy Bubby and Megan regularly enjoy the colorful evenings.

Today's question:
Mountains, desert, oceanside, plains ... what's your favored setting for 'home'?

Definitely the mountains for me! But a vacation to the beach would be nice. :)
Mountains, any and every day. But I agree. I could use a beach for a week or two of relaxation.
The sunset picture is beautiful! I'm not a desert person but I'd love to visit. I'm a coastal girl, I would never be able to move too far from the shore, if I can't there within 10 mins, it's too far for me.
Oh how pretty! Although I wouldn't trade that for hotness. Can't believe the fall in the air here already, though. (But I'm SOOO ready for it!)
Anyway, my preference is by the ocean, which also happens to be the one place I've never lived. I wonder if the ocean is greener on the other side ...
It has to be the ocean for me. I live in the mountains and I do love it but I am a Hawaiian native and I long to be back near the ocean. Some day.....
I'm pretty content right where I am. I have a desert home, wide open views, beautiful star filled nights, amazing sunsets, my family all close, and a mountain home just a couple of hours away in the tall cool Pines.
I like being close to the mountains and the ocean. In other words, where I am is pretty darn good. Oh... clean air is becoming more of a must. :-(
I currently live in central GA, kinda hilly. 2 hours from mountains, 4 hours from the beach. nowhere near the desert! I like having access to both within a couple of hours. I would like to visit the desert and I also want to go far enough north to see the northern lights!
Currently on persoanl retreat at the beach!

I can't say I'm a fan of any, one setting all the time! I live in the midwest, in an area that's rather flat - and the weather this summer has been soooooo hot, in the 90s, and very, very humid. Yesterday was 99-degrees. Today, we have a beautiful breeze, and I don't have to run the a/c just to keep cool. I like the water, but don't want to live right next door to it. Likewise, mountains! I don't think I could handle the desert year-round. Ok to visit, but not for life. I'm NOT a fan of creepy-crawlies. So - I guess I like where I am, with all four seasons!
I like where I am, in a little mountain town, with lots of tall pines, aspen, and hummingbirds and cool
nights; I DON'T like cold, snowy winters but one has to take the bad with the good. Having lived an
hour from the coast as well as the mountains in the other direction in North Carolina (grew up there) and sixteen frigid years in Minnesota, I really do prefer Colorado mountains.
Glad Bubby, Megan, and Preston have such beautiful sunsets. If they ever want a White Christ-
mas, they can have mine, if they'll come pack it up themselves.
I've lived on an island my whole life surrounded by water, so I guess that is my favorite place to be. I do love the Rockies when I visit Colorado, and San Francisco holds a special place in my heart (beautiful hills and the blue bay) I think I always find something to like about everyplace I visit :)
I live in Tn. the weather is never the same. It can be hot one day and cool the next, variety. We live close enough to visit mountains, ocean and the desert. I agree with ramblings of a woman,I would love to see the northern lights in Alaska, but not live there, we did have northern lights a few summers ago here, just not bright enough as it would be if we were in Alaska.
