Grandma's assistant baker
Not only was Bubby's visit to Grandma's the first time he rode on a plane without Mom or Dad and the first time he slept in the big boy guest room all by himself, it was his very first time to bake cookies -- chocolate-chip cookies! -- with Grandma.

Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm! Finger-lickin' good!
Today's question:
Chocolate-chip cookies are my signature baked good. What is yours? (If anyone wants the recipe from another commenter, say so in the comments and I'll conduct a recipe swap through e-mail. OR ... you're welcome to include your recipe with your comment to begin with!)

What fun! Those pictures are priceless! Some of my best memories are helping my great grandmother make her signature sugar cookies. Which are now my signature baked good. Although I hardly ever make them now that we live in Colorado. I can't get them right with the altitude.
Having just eaten a batch of your signature cookies, I can testify that they are outstanding. Bubby's a lucky kid. :)
I don't have a signature baked good, but I'm hoping I'll come up with one now that I have a couple of kids to bake for.
What a cutie! He's going to have such good memories of Grandma's kitchen.
As for baking, I don't do a lot of it. I cook a lot, but I don't make a lot of baked goods. However, when I do have to impress, I always go with chocolate lava cake. It's deceptively fancypants even though it's super easy.
Those pictures document a period of vacuum-packed joy! A grandma who is not only a baker of
love but a photographer extraordinaire!
My favorite baking recipe is for carrot bars. They are so good and moist. The have a cream cheese icing. They give the hard to make pumpkin rolls a real run for their money. All ages love them. The interesting part about this recipe is that it calls for strained carrots. That's right. Four jars of baby food!
I don't have a signature baked good probably because I don't bake. But now that I am retired, I should probably start. Very cute pictures and I do love your cookies....actually I love everything you bake.
Hi Lisa!
I'm on vacation in San Francisco this week so I've had limited computer time, but I just browsed through all your posts from your week with Bubby. I loved this post! If you remember when you interviewed me as a grilled grandma I answered htat I wanted my grandson to remember me by "cookies" and this is exactly what I meant! There is something magical that happens when a child helps to cook, and baking cookies is an activity that is so sweet and cozy. You made lots of wonderful memories with Bubby!
This should be a Toll House commercial--so adorable.
I'm a chocolate chip cookie gal, too.
Interesting info! I enjoy reading these types of posts.
