Bikes, trikes and big boy beds
Bubby tackled two big milestones this past week: getting his first bike and moving out of the crib and into a big boy bed.
The bike, actually a trike, was a birthday gift from his paternal grandparents.
He's still getting the hang of the coordination for the pedaling, Megan said. But I have no doubt that he'll have it down in no time!
The move from the crib to the big boy bed didn't actually require a move at all, just a conversion of his crib. (Smart designing of cribs nowadays, wouldn't ya say!)
Megan said the first night went fantastic. She told Bubby it was bedtime, he crawled up in place, and he stayed there all night long! There was no crying, no waking in the night, no falling out and bonking his head.
That shouldn't be too surprising, of course, because I've probably mentioned before that Bubby is absolutely perfect!
With the exception, I should add, of the position in which he sleeps!
Today's question:
TGIF! What are your plans for the weekend?

I just love seeing photos of Bubby! The thing I loved so much about having day care was watching the kids discover new things everyday. I still get a little of that reading about Bubby.
This weekend is all about my son's prom and a birthday gathering with my husband's side of the family.
Those pictures reflect Pure Joy, Accomplishment, and Peace. Good to see.
My week-end is for getting back those of mine who have been traveling. Until different ones take off.
Tammy: What an exciting weekend for you! I can't wait to see prom pics! Enjoy your weekend!
Ann: Funny how, even as a GREAT-grandma, life is still defined by the comings and goings of kids! Tell everyone "hello" for me.
He's such a mellow kind, so happy!
It's scooter rally weekend, yay! I don't know how many of the events I'll be participating in, but the ride on Saturday is my favorite.
How can he sleep in that position?! I love that picture! Nothing big planned for the weekend...hubby is recovering from surgery!
Taking it easy this weekend as last weekend was hectic.....plus it is supposed to be abnormally warm here. Bubby has the cutest smiles!
Bubby is getting to be such a big boy! I can't get over how fast they grow. I thought grandchildren would stay younger longer, but it seems to be the opposite happening. My grandson is talking so much now at 18 months --his daddy didn't talk till he was 2! I was very impressed he could say "basketball game" when we played together last week.
Nothing special this weekend as we were away last weekend and now have to catch up on chores around the house. I finally planted my garden this week.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Such a cutie! It's almost time for my little Max to make that change, too. His crib will be needed in Sept. for his new brother. The bed is currently in my garage waiting to be assembled for him. Time sure flies, doesn't it?
Kate: Enjoy the scooter rally, you hipster, you!
Annette: I know! Isn't that the craziest sleep position!? His aunt, my youngest daughter, sleeps sort of like that, just on her back with one leg balanced on the knee of the other (or at least she used to!). Best wishes for a quick recovery for your hubby!
Debbie: Yeah, we're bracing for the heat, too. I just got out three more fans. No A/C in our house. Ugh!
Pat: I'm so impressed your grandson can say "basketball game." That's a pretty big mouthful for an 18-month-old!
Janie: Pretty exciting that Max will be in the big bed and there will be a brand new baby in the crib! I envy you, getting to have a COUPLE new grandkids soon!
mile stones are so important . . .
we're not planning much. I am going to the youngest grandson's birthday party today. We'll be bowling.
have a nice weekend.
Kaye: How fun! Have a great time at the bowling party!
What a sweet photo of Bubby sleeping
