    The Saturday Post

For a variety of reasons and rejections, I've felt like an epic failure this past week. I looked for a video to relate my loser status to you all and found this.

For me, it was the right thing at the right time. Maybe it will be for you, too.

    Today's question:

If you could master one trick, what would it be?

My answer: I'd like to be able to juggle ... chainsaws!

Lisa! I loved this. Why did I love this?

    Thanks for asking...

We are so mentally defeated a million times a day by our surroundings. This was a spectacular reminder of why we should all never give up.

    Never failed-never tried-never lived.

And btw, you are not even close to a failure my friend! (-:

Why does crap happen to good people like you? It's entirely undeserved.

As for skills, hmm. I'd have to say dedication, the ability to sit down and just write that book -- that I have no idea what is about -- already.

Wow...I must have lived then because I've failed my whole life. I heard Bill Gates did too. Wonder if he needs a secretary.

I would like to have the world's greenest thumb (like my granny had) so that every seed I planted would germinate quickly, sprout strong roots, and burst forth with multitudes of brilliant flowers.

You, Lisa, have never failed at anything you attempted...just ask your husband what kind of wife you are, ask your daughters how you do as a mother, your grandson what kind of grandma you are or even your pets if they love and depend on you. Or, for that matter, ask ME what kind of daughter you are. Any accomplishments outside these realms depend on opinions of people who are inadequately supplied with brains.

I'd like to be able to juggle all the jobs I have at work everyday EFFICIENTLY. Geez, I'm tired every day. Yesterday, I never had time to eat lunch!

You guys never fail to make me smile!! Thanks for the nice words!

What a great reminder that it's okay to fall down now and then. The secret is getting back up. And that can be really hard sometimes. I'm sorry you had a bad week but I know you're probably already dusting yourself off.

I would really love to master photography. I'd love to be able to capture the world as I see it. I've been thinking of taking classes but keep putting it off.

I feel ya sister! That was good to see, thank you for sharing it.

I would like to read minds! People, cats, dogs, babies, birds... It would be entertaining.

    Hi Lisa!

Hope things turn around for you soon!

I had trouble putting your "I've been Grilled" button on my blog ...I am placing it into the HTML gadget button on blogspot and it isn't showing up

Can you check it and re-send it? Thanks!

Pat: I just resent it to you. It's the same code -- there just seems to be a problem with the last quote mark. It goes to some wonky character. If you ensure the last quote mark (after the .jpg) is a quote mark, it should work. You can see an example (that goes right to YOUR grilling) on the grilled grandmas page.

Loved the video! One of my favorite quotes: Failure is an event not a person!!!!

If I could master one trick it would be making myself invisible! Have many times have you wished you could be a fly on the wall? I would also like to learn the trick to crocheting. My grandmother, mother and occupational therapist all gave up on me. I just don't get it!

I am so with you this week. To top off all the little failures, I forgot to go to my grandson's school program Friday afternoon. Bad Grandma!

If I could master one trick, it would be overcoming my famously bad memory before I start having memory problems for a real reason!

Love that quote, Annette. And yeah, being invisible would be pretty darn cool.

Susan: Ugh! I'm sure you felt absolutely horrible about missing your grandson's program. Luckily little boys forgive grandmas pretty quickly.
