    The next Grilled Grandma

Related Posts with ThumbnailsI've learned so much from the grandmas I've met through the Grilled Grandma feature. Sometimes it's crafty things, sometimes it's ideas on how to handle the 819 miles between Bubby and myself.

The learning doesn't stop with this week's Grilled Grandma, Grandma Vee.

Let me preface what I learned from Grandma Vee by saying that 1) I'm Irish, and 2) I was the editor of a parenting publication for many years. But I never, ever before heard or read about "Irish twins." And Grandma Vee has a set of Irish twins. She didn't explain what that is, but she definitely piqued my curiosity. So I googled it, of course.

And what did I find? Well, despite my overactive imagination envisioning kids born with matching leprechaun-shaped birthmarks or a penchant for potatoes (remember I'm Irish, I can say those things), Irish twins are simply siblings born within the same calendar year. And Grandma Vee has two gorgeous little grandsons who fit the bill.

Now we've all learned something from Grandma Vee!

Meet Vee and her Irish twins right here. She's an interesting woman, full of wit and wisdom -- possibly due to having her (100-year-old) grandma live with her, creating a home with double the grandma fun!

As always, let me know if you or a grandma you know would like to be grilled. Just e-mail me a first name and e-mail address and I'll take care of the rest.

    Today's (totally unrelated) question:

We all have a lazy bone, to some degree. How does your lazy bone reveal itself?

My answer: I'm lazy about mopping my floors. I have lots of wood floors throughout my house and I really hate having to mop them. My sister bought me one of those Swiffer wet mop contraptions, but the floors look much nicer when mopped then shined the old-fashioned way ... but I'm lazy about it and put off doing it far longer than I should.

I did not know about irish twins either!

I'm lazy about cleaning the bathroom and if I'm being really honest I'm lazy about cooking dinner too. I do everything in my power to make it easy, one pan meals, crock pot meals, etc.

I am lazy about cleaning in general. I keep the house tidy, but I hate scrubbing...ya know? It was nice to learn about Grandma Vee!

Never heard of "Irish Twins" before, only know about mine, David and Debbie, born four minutes apart.

I know I'm being lazy when I have a flower seed catalog in front of me and the clock foolishly sped ahead a whole hour or more.

I am terribly lazy about filling in my author URL when visiting blogs and seldom bother. :D

Well shoot! My grands are NOT Irish twins by this definition. Like words that almost rhyme in poetry, I guess that they are "near Irish twins."

Thanks so much, Lisa! This was good fun.

I've become most lazy about folding the laundry! We pretty much live out of the laundry baskets.
