Friday Haiku Contest Winner!
The Jan. 15 edition of the Friday Haiku Contest featured some of the best haikus I've seen yet. But only one person can win and the mighty BINGO ball cage has chosen the following winner:
Will a young child see
and welcome spring in Haiti
and Afghanistan?
~ Ann
(That's B1 for the uninitiated.)
Congratulations, Ann! I love your haiku!
And I'd love to pass along a prize that was awarded once before, but never claimed. (What happened, Kris?) This is one of my favorite goodies from the antique stash, so I hope you'll like it -- and claim it. And if you don't, I'll be keeping it for myself as I'll recycle my prizes only once before claiming them for myself!
It's Pick-up Stix, back from the '50s and worth five times what I paid for it at the antique store.

Contact me, Ann, to claim your prize!
Everyone else is invited to join this week's Friday Haiku Contest. You can find out the theme word and all other details right here! And if you've entered in the past and still haven't won, just keep trying. Ya never know what the mighty BINGO ball cage will roll!
Today's question from the Zobmondo "Would You Rather..." board game:
Would you rather be paid $250,000 immediately -- OR -- $20,000 a year for life?
I'd like the big chunk of money now. I have many bills to pay and several family members who could use a little help, so the $250,000 would come in pretty handy. And I'm not so sure I trust ANY entity to truly make good on a "for life" promise, especially when it comes to money and considering the current banking/economic situation.

Thank you, thank you for liking the haiku and the pick-up sticks!
I'd definitely take the one-time big hunk o' dollars; remember, I'd never buy green bananas for years now!
