    Grandma's cookie monster

When Jim and I visited Bubby, Megan and Preston recently, I brought along an assortment of cookies from our annual Cookie Swap.

I don't think even Cookie Monster from Sesame Street gets as much enjoyment out of a few cookies as Bubby did from these.

More? More? Mmmm, mmmm, good!Today's question from "The Christmas Conversation Piece":

Approximately how many dozens of cookies do you bake during a typical Christmas season? Would you like to guess at how many you eat during the season?

My answer: I usually make about 15 dozen -- of the same kind, for swapping at our annual cookie swap. This year, I've probably eaten ... AAACK! ... about two dozen total so far.

Hope everyone who says, logically, that we should stop the Cookie Swap (because it's not necessary, too much stress, takes too much time, makes me crazy, etc.) will look at these pictures of the youngest beneficiary of all that stress, time, craziness and then decide if it's worth it. I cried looking at these pictures and I vote, "Yes", it's worth it!

I love how he eats his cookies with two hands! So completely adorable.

I make so many dozens of cookies, I'm afraid the know the actual number... I made 14 different kinds and I guess you get 3-4 dozen per recipe... GAH! I don't want to know. I haven't eaten too many cookies with wheat, but I've had my share of fudge and rice krispie treats!

What great pictures. Someone captured the event quite well! I can almost taste those cookies...

I bake about 6 doz sugar cookies for my annual cookie decorating open house. That's about the extent of it. I don't bake em so I don't eat em. LOL.

Ann/Mom: I'm sure we'll continue the swap until long after you and I are gone ... at least I hope so.

Tammy: I saw the photos of your goodies ... incredible! We only end up with that kind of variety in my house thanks to swapping with my siblings!

And Kathy: I need to follow your mantra of not baking them so you don't eat them because I can't stop friggin' eating them -- even when I no longer want or enjoy them! Maybe next year I won't make any. (Oh wait, I have to. I just told my mom our swap would continue forever!)
